Little Stars is a private Therapy service that began in 2009. Little Stars started of in a converted room in Mareike’s own home. Since then the service has grown due to the demand for an intensive treatment point in the county. Waiting lists for a HS OT assessment/program has been known to take longer than a year and half to obtain. Huge changes can occur within this time in the development of a child and waiting this long for a needed service can result in significant delays in terms of normal development.

Mareike, a fully qualified Senior Occupational Therapist, received her degree in Germany. Since then Mareike has had extensive experience in the area of paediatric OT and completed a wide range of post graduate courses and training in areas such as Sensory Integration. Mareike has worked with children experiencing many difficulties as a result of developmental conditions such as Autism and other conditions requiring specialist assistance.

As the demand for the service has grown, a speech and language therapist and a physiotherapist have joined the young and enthusiastic professional team. Our approach is holistic and we work closely together with families, carers, doctors, teachers and other health professionals.

The service offers specialist and a wide scope of assessments covering a broad range of conditions. These assessments are useful as they provide concise yet detailed information of a child’s strengths and weaknesses, therefore highlighting specific areas a child needs assistance with .This allows therapists, teachers and indeed parent and guardians to have a better understanding of a child’s abilities.

Located just minutes from Enniscorthy town, the tranquil setting for this clinic will soon have a Multi- Sensory Room and garden to offer as part of the treatment process.
