These sessions focus on developing children’s handwriting skills. It utilises the Handwriting Without Tears Programme which is proven to help children master all of the necessary skills to produce legible, concise handwriting.
The programme can be implemented with children as young as pre-school age. Through the use of music and song, basic mark making and interactive methods young children can develop key skills in the area of handwriting.
Older children can learn cursive handwriting skills, practise their orientation and refine their letter sizing as well as learn correct postural control and pencil grip to ensure accuracy and efficiency during school exercises.
Sessions incorporate fine motor, listening and attention skills, as well as organisational skills. We also pay close attention to the development of children’s understanding of phonics and numeracy by ensuring that they can recognise the letters and numbers that they are writing.
